OUR POSITION STATEMENT RE PAWS
On July 30th 2005 we sent the following to the appropriate folks on the Agricultural Committee, the AKC BOD, our local elected officials, and the SAOVA (with the appropriate greeting for each):
Dear Senate Agriculture Legislative Assistant,
Please be advised, by unanimous agreement of all officers and an
overwhelming majority of members in attendance, the Alaska Winds Coursing
Club has voted as a membership organization, on July 29, 2005, to OPPOSE
SB1139 and HR 2669.
Please further note that, although we are all involved in activities, sports
and/or conformation with our AKC-registered dogs, the AKC in the matter of
this bill is NOT representing our interests, nor do we believe the AKC is
representing the best interests of purebred dogs or their owners overall.
